Terms of Service
These terms apply when you access or use Handover.today, including the marketing website, product app, and published handover pages.
These terms are between you and the current operator of Handover.today ("Handover", "we", "us"). Handover.today does not yet list a separate registered legal entity, business name, or ABN in these terms. We will update this page if those details change. Questions about the current operator can be sent to hello@handover.today.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, signing in, publishing a handover, or using account-only parts of Handover, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you use Handover on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.
People who only view a published handover page are not required to accept these terms as account holders. However, they must not misuse the page, attempt to bypass access controls, or use Handover in a way that harms us, users, clients, or third parties.
2. The Service
Handover helps creators package project deliverables into a single client-ready page. You can create projects, add deliverable links, publish static handover snapshots, and share public handover URLs with clients or collaborators.
Handover is currently evolving. Features, limits, pricing, availability, and integrations may change as the product develops.
3. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address or Google account you use to sign in. You must provide accurate account information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by Handover's failure to use reasonable care.
We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe an account is being used unlawfully, abusively, insecurely, or in a way that could harm Handover, other users, clients, or third parties.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of the project information, notes, links, and other content you add to Handover. You grant Handover a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display, copy, and transmit that content as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
You are responsible for the content you add and publish. You must have the rights and permissions needed to share deliverable links, client names, project details, contact information, and any personal, confidential, or third-party material included in a handover.
5. Published Handover Links
Published handover pages are intended to be shared with clients using stable, unguessable URLs. Anyone with the link may be able to access the page unless access controls are added in the future or configured for that page.
You should treat each published handover URL as a shareable client link. Do not publish information you are not comfortable sharing with the intended recipients. Noindex metadata can discourage search engines, but it is not the same as private access control.
6. Third-Party Services and Links
Handover does not host or control third-party deliverable services such as Figma, Google Drive, Loom, Dropbox, Notion, GitHub, or other tools you link to. Those services may require their own permissions, accounts, subscriptions, or availability.
You are responsible for making sure recipients have appropriate access to third-party deliverables. Handover is not responsible for broken links, permission issues, changed third-party terms, removed files, or outages in services we do not control.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not use Handover to:
- break the law or infringe others' rights;
- publish content you do not have permission to share;
- share malware, phishing, scams, deceptive material, or spam;
- harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others;
- probe, scan, overload, or attack Handover or related systems;
- attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or access controls;
- reverse engineer or scrape the service except where allowed by law;
- use Handover in a way that could damage the service, other users, clients, or third-party providers.
8. Plans, Pricing, and Beta Features
Handover is currently offered free of charge during its open beta. We may introduce paid plans, limits, trials, or premium features later. You will not be charged unless you choose a paid plan and agree to the applicable pricing and payment terms.
Beta, experimental, or preview features may change, break, or be removed. You should not rely on beta features for critical workflows without keeping your own backup records.
9. Intellectual Property
Handover, including the website, app, interface, branding, software, and underlying technology, is owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not give you ownership of Handover or permission to use our brand except as needed to use the service.
10. Availability and Changes
We aim to make Handover reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Handover is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that handover pages, third-party links, analytics, metadata, or previews will always be accurate, available, or suitable for your specific needs.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or guarantees that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Handover will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of goodwill, or business interruption.
To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to:
- while the service is provided free of charge, AUD $100; or
- if you have paid Handover for the service, the greater of AUD $100 and the amount you paid to Handover in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnity
If your use of Handover, your content, or your breach of these terms causes a claim, loss, or expense for Handover, you agree to indemnify us to the extent permitted by law. This does not apply to claims caused by Handover's own unlawful conduct or failure to use reasonable care.
14. Ending Use
You may stop using Handover at any time. You can delete projects or request account deletion through available product flows or by contacting us. We may retain some information where needed for security, backups, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business records.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, unless a different governing law is required by applicable consumer protection law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Handover changes. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of Handover after updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.
